Congress is in the final stages of negotiation for approval for a bipartisan bill called the Camp Lejeune Justice Act of 2022.  The goal of the bill is to help ensure that those who lived and worked at Camp Lejeune get compensation for their injuries. When it passes, anybody who suffered injury after working, visiting, living, or serving in the military at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, NC from 1953 to 1987, may be entitled to financial compensation.

Camp Lejeune water contamination injury cases potentially being investigated include claims of any individuals who were exposed to the water at Camp Lejeune for at least 30 days.  It is anticipated that over ONE MILLION people were exposed to this toxic water and may have developed serious health conditions.  This includes not only veterans, but parents, children, and even babies in the womb, and some of which have died.

Studies have linked exposure to chemicals that were in the water to the following conditions:

Multiple Myeloma                   Parkinson’s Disease

Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma    Hodgkin’s Disease

Leukemia                                Aplastic Anemia

Hepatic Steatosis                    Fetal Death/Miscarriages

Major Fetal Malformations     Scleroderma

Renal Toxicity                         Neurobehavioral Effects

Female/Male Infertility           Birth Defects

End Stage Renal Disease        Cardiac Defects

Liver Cancer, Kidney Cancer, Bladder Cancer, Breast Cancer, Rectal Cancer, Prostate Cancer, Esophageal Cancer, Central Nervous System Cancer (brain or spinal cord)
